Ladbrokes Coral Merger to be completed this week

The long running £2 Billion pound merger between Gala Coral and Ladbrokes owners of  Ladbrokes Casino  could be confirmed as early as this week, according to a report published in this week's Sunday Times.

The report suggests Gala Coral senior staff will be inline for a windfall of £50m should the deal go ahead. However the Competition and Markets Authority has advised both Ladbrokes and Coral they must dispose of 400 betting shops to reduce fears the merger would hurt competition in the already highly charged Gaming Industry.

Both Betfred and Boylesports are in discussions to takeover the shops, to strengthen the retail gaming offerings by both firms, Betfred is one of the longest established names on the High Street with a history going back to 1967.
